Day 3

1.  Post 11.1 FN and look at the map below. Can you find at least 5 Germanic tribes and where they originated?

2.  Unscramble main events from 11.1 (don't use book, notes, ipad....JUST BRAIN POWER!)

3.  Review Justinian and the crumble of the Eastern Empire (create growth and decline chart)
HW=review for Ch 6 Test on Day 1 and Asia Physical Geography test on Day 2.

Ch 6 Test
Review major events from each section
Be sure that you can analyze how each event led to R (rise), M (maintenance) or F (fall) of ROME.
This will assessment will measure how well you can tell the story of the Roman Empire from 753 BCE-1453 CE
**You can practice this at home and/or with friends!  HOW?

Located in Istanbul, Turkey this was first created as a Greek basilica and housed relics.  It was destroyed during riots and then rebuilt as a church under the orders of Justinian.  After Justinian Sultan Mehmet (Ottoman) transformed it into a Mosque.  Bells, altar and some other Christian artwork was removed and replaced with Islamic features like calligraphy, four minarets and geometric decor.  It is now a museum.  Hagia Sophia was the world's largest cathedral until 1520 (when Seville Cathedral was built).
