1.  Unscramble main events from 11.1 (don't use book, notes, ipad....JUST BRAIN POWER!)
2.  Review Justinian and the crumble of the Eastern Empire
*Create a growth and decline chart for Justinian.
3.  HW-Review for Ch 6 test (yes this includes 11.1)

Ch 6 Test
Review major events from each section
Be sure that you can analyze how each event led to R (rise), M (maintenance) or F (fall) of ROME.
This will assessment will measure how well you can tell the story of the Roman Empire from 753 BCE-1453 CE
**You can practice this at home and/or with friends!  HOW?

Located in Istanbul, Turkey this was first created as a Greek basilica and housed relics.  It was destroyed during riots and then rebuilt as a church under the orders of Justinian.  After Justinian Sultan Mehmet (Ottoman) transformed it into a Mosque.  Bells, altar and some other Christian artwork was removed and replaced with Islamic features like calligraphy, four minarets and geometric decor.  It is now a museum.  Hagia Sophia was the world's largest cathedral until 1520 (when Seville Cathedral was built).
